Matt K. is interested in the strange and the fantastic. He has Directed for Film and the Theatre including Evil Dead the Musical (2016), and the sci-fi puppet series “Destroy the Humans!” (2017), featured in the Jim Henson Foundation curated 2018 BAM! Kids Film Festival. His short-films have also been screened at festivals around the country.
With a diverse background of skills Matt has freelanced in Post-Production and dabbled in documentary-style filmmaking with various news and culture publications, as well as serving as a Producer at Encirco Studios.
Matt is also a Film Composer and his original music can be heard in the feature-films “God Bless America” and “Willow Creek” directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, as well as original Sneakthief Media productions and a variety of short-films.
Matt M. grew up maintaining a series of family taverns in Dracut, MA. At age 5, he was responsible for making Friday’s chowder. At 13, he was radio producer for "Saturday Morning Live," and remains the youngest in WCAP 980 AM’s 66-year history.
After earning a film degree at Fitchburg State University, he moved to Los Angeles and pursued freelance production in commercials, feature films, and music videos. A desire for more consistent employment led to coordinating production and post for original series on A&E, VH1, CMT, WEtv, and FOX. Over the past four years, he worked in distribution and content localization for 20th Century Fox and Netflix, respectively.
He lives in Santa Monica, CA, where he enjoys documentaries about gross makeup FX and always has time to pet a dog.
